My speedometer won't work and its do to my speedo cable. it seems as though the speedo drive gear is not contacting the drive gear inside the t-case. Am i missing something? Is this something that should be pretty easy and for me its not? I have replaced this on my 60's and has zero issues and for some reason i can't get the two parts to connect. Did i order the wrong speedo drive gear? This is for a 02/80 and the part number i have is 33403-69075.

What was the part number of the driven (plastic) gear that you removed?

How many teeth did the driven (plastic) gear have?

the one i have in there now is part number 33403-69075 and after doing more research that is a 16t gear.

Do you still have the original driven gear?

Do you know how many teeth your original driven gear has?

Hello?

What would cause the speedo gear to not be in contact with the speedo drive gear?

You do not have the correct combination of drive and driven gears.
