The other day I tried to fix my odometer per the instructions on the tech page. Everything was going fine until I could not get the speedo needle to come off its shaft. I pulled and pulled until I was afraid of breaking it. The procedure would be much easier if I could get it off. The article was written for a later model BJ40, does anyone know for sure if the needle on a '74 FJ40 comes off?

i know it comes off when you break it. ha ha. oh well.

what are you trying to do that you need the needle off? roll it back? :-X

i didnt think that you'd ever need the needle off...

No I'm not trying to roll it back (I have no idea how many miles it has anyway).
I need to dissasemble the odo and clean and lube it so it will work again. This is possible without removing the needle, however its much easier if you can.
