What’s the best way to pull the speedometer needle off? I’ve been pulling pretty hard with my fingers and it won’t give. I don’t want to damage anything.

Let me know your tricks!

Thanks

You'll see the needle-stop when you look into it from the top side. (The tab that stops the needle at "0 MPH") Grab the center hub of the needle and twist it in the direction against the stop. (The stop is more robust than it appears) Take care not to put ant pressure on the needle itself. It should break loose from the shaft. Now you'll need to twist in in the opposite direction while pulling needle off the shaft. The problem here is you won't be against the stop in that direction so reach in with fingers, or pliers, and hold the bell-shaped piece that has the stop tab to keep it from rotating as you rotate needle in the opposite direction while pulling up on needle hub. I did this back and fourth about three times and the needle came off with no problem. Also, take care not to touch the return spring as it is very delicate.
