Wondering if anyone has advice on most affordable way of getting a spare key made. Unfortunately the 2016 I recently bought only came with 1. Thanks.

Most affordable is to order a refurb fob off eBay and program the truck for it with techstream (I recommend VX Diag for techstream, but there are cheaper ways to skin that cat)
You can also find people on eBay who will cut your key blank based on a picture of your original.

if you're getting a new transmitter, consider the LX570 credit card / wallet key. It's a bit more, but also more pocket friendly. A whole thread dedicated to it here: . And a couple of other threads as well for the various years and codes.

I just did this on my 2018. I purchased a new OEM remote, it was $135+shipping. i think 2016-17 uses a different remote. I already have techstream so i was able to program it at home in about 5 minutes. I wonder if you can get a good locksmith to do it for you.
For the uncut blade I bought one on ebay for $6. OEM is about $35. I had the locksmith cut it to match my OEM blade for $65.
Obviously, pricing will vary for you depending on location. Also, i don’t know if the 2018 part number will match your 2016.
