Southern Cruiser Crawl Moving

uh oh

Although an inconvenience for those of us from Alabama, this will be a good move for Cottonland's event. I haven't ever been to Superlift, but from what I hear it's an awesome venue with trails for all levels.

I am hoping/planning to scout out the park at the non-event (Ozark Cruiser Crawl) in June.

The bummer is that we have lost another great TLCA event that is convenient to many of us in Alabama. With what has happened with GSMTR this year and the moving of the SCC, there are not many other TLCA events in our region that are within 6 hours of drive time.

We really need to get our club off the ground and this is the perfect opportunity to do some club rides. However, we need more participation from more of our members to make club rides worthwhile.

Also, if anyone is interested in convoying to any event please let me know! All I really need is the excuse. I am planning to make the Ozark Cruiser Crawl in June and the Southern Cruiser Crawl in October. Traveling to both events I will be coming through Birmingham, so any of you Birmingham guys are more than welcome to ride or convoy with me to either event.

Please let me know your feelings about doing more club rides and/or making road trips to TLCA events.

Sorry about the move guys. We had to do it. It was time. We have been asking for years for better facilities at Gray Rock (showers, bathrooms and trail maps that actually mean something) and Tony seems to be more worried about mining than wheeling. I can't blame him as I'm sure that is what pays the day to day bills. Gray Rock served us well but we just needed to move on.

The Crawl will be much easier for us to put on at Superlift. They have a nice bath house and a small store right there on the site. The trails are fantastic. There is a water park that is about 2 miles away if the kids and wives don't want to wheel for a day. We would love to have as many of our Alabama Brothers join us in October as is possible. Hope yall can make it.

If you keep not considering Washington folk then I will have choice but to move to Jackson!

Gonna be a last minute call for me. Auburn will be playing in Arkansas that weekend, how convenient.

Thanks Jeff!

Yes, I think this is a great move for the Southern Cruiser Crawl! I also agreed with your thoughts on Gray Rock. I was actually a little surprised when it got scheduled in 2008. With continued mining operations, lack of trail up keep, and lack of facilities Gray Rock isn't the best place for a TLCA event anymore. Also, it is hard to believe that the wheeling will be better when the mining is complete.

Hopefully, when things with DixieLand Cruisers get going we'll have our own event in Alabama.

The SCC will have a band this year! Matt Stell & the Crashers (opened for John D. Hale at the Round-up) will be playing on Friday night (9 Oct). We are really looking forward to this. Should be a blast! Make plans now! BTW, we are bringing a Sat. dish, projector and big screen for fooball on sat. night!

Later,

Talked to BJ at Superlift and half of the RV spots are already reserved (by Cruiserheads) for SCC. Better call if you need one. Dates: Oct 8-11 2009.

Later,

Thanks. I am still planning to make the trip to the SCC.

It's not looking good for the OCC in June though.
