i managed to break a freewheeling hub and a birf at the same time on the same side (pass side). 2f standard 1976 drivetrain and 33's

pics to follow, but i did a good job of it, lockout was in at least 4 pieces (half was missing) birf was completely poo pooed, cage and outer bell... about 30 individual pieces, which locked up steering... i happened to be in a river with water just covering the tops of the 33's, facing upstream, and i needed to turn right...

a 60 series pulling at 45 degrees got my front around, till my motor died due to water, so he towed me dead weight as far as he could. then the motor started again, and i followed some big ruts out onto flattish ground. knee deep in mud, with a dying flashlight, in the rain, as the sun was going down, was not my ideal time to learn how to pull a knuckle off. alot simpler than i expected.

so i guess i gotta learn how to change a CV.

or would it be easier to use a complete birf and inner axle as i have a spare one sitting here unseparated
