Did you use the software disc that’s supplied with the diagnostic cable, or is it better to obtain the software elsewhere?

Use the virtual machine image that's available in the "Techstream in 5 minutes" thread. That allows you to safely run the software on whatever laptop you'd like.
just going off of my own experience here, but mine will not make any adjustments, up or down, with any door open. I feel like I get about one adjustment (up or down) a week when I start the car, but it's almost always when I'm parked on a slope and the front has either lifted or compressed. this sounds like an electrical gremlin to me, whether switch, sensors, or just a funky wiring issue. I'm curious to see what you find.

As I’m understanding it, the disc requires the use of a laptop running an old version of Windows. So, the laptop I replaced 15 years ago, which also had a battery that would no longer hold a charge. First, find the laptop, then locate the power cord, and last, cross my fingers that the thing even boots up. Oh, and it also requires turning off virus protection, etc. That’s not really an issue since I wiped the laptop of all contents 15 years ago.
Or, run virtual machine on a current laptop. Does that sound about right?
Yup! That's right. I run the virtual machine on my Windows 10 laptop. Super easy.

Compared to yours, it sounds like mine is making those adjustments every time we start the car. Those cumulative adjustments then result in increased height (on mine at least). I agree with you, it definitely sounds like there’s a gremlin somewhere in the electronics of the system.
As weird as this issue is, I’m honestly surprised no one else has encountered it before. This will officially be the first time I’ve ever had a strange vehicle issue that, upon doing a quick internet search, didn’t result in someone, somewhere, having previously dealt with the same issue.

If you have a 15yr old laptop running Windows XP that's ideal. I can send you known working builds of TS in a zip if you went the old laptop route. My tried and true IBM Thinkpad X32 has been the perfect diagnostic computer for years now.
The virtual machine setup is also very slick. So choose your poison and let us know!

Ha, I’m SO glad to be the first. Something tells me I’ll be the only one though. These trucks don’t seem to be the type to present unique issues such as this one. At least not in my experience.
I do appreciate all of the input this far, though. I’ll either figure it out, or, my next post may be: So…I still have the OEM torsion bars from my 04 LC that I removed when I installed the Old Man Emu suspension. The rear coils were shot, but I could purchase a set of OEM LC coils… or, who wants to buy a 2006 LX w/ 90k miles? AHC functions, “uniquely”.
It would be a true sacrifice, but I could probably take the truck off your hands for salvage value, given the obvious Christine nature of the gremlins inhabiting it.

What about Windows Vista? That’s what the 15 yr old laptop is running. If that’ll work, I will at least give it my best shot of installing the program on there.
I went to a Mac in 2009, and never revisited Windows after that time.
It's worth a shot. Get yourself the cable recommended in this thread first, then you can dive into the actual TS install.
The "publicly available" versions of Techstream are simply a clean full install with a "cracked" exe that removes any subscription expiration data.
If you're serious, how much ( in USD, BTC, or personal favors
) would it take to rid you of your problem?I have a full OME static suspension with diff drop sitting in boxes in my garage. It had been awaiting me actually getting steel bumpers for the last couple of years, which I've finally done, but all the reading about how (relatively) easy it is to maintain AHC along with extolling of its virtues has me nearly convinced to just get a set of new rear springs, add an air assist for when I load it up, and do the diff drop and sensor adjustment to get the 2" lift I wanted... also, looking for the right deal on a good vehicle for my 15 year old to learn on and drive for the next few years until his slightly-younger brother also starts driving in about 2 years...

If the offer still stands of sending me the zip file, I would greatly appreciate it. Given that the last time I tried to connect that computer to WiFi with no luck (obsolete wireless cards, idk) I would need to receive the file from another device, and save it to a thumb drive to install to the old machine.
I should be receiving the cable in a couple of days, so that’ll give me some time to work on the install and begin familiarizing myself with the software.

I should reiterate that it is my wife’s vehicle, and the family is currently dependent on it for daily work and kid hauling. So selling is currently my last resort, at least for the moment. I think this AHC issue can be tackled, and certainly without replacing the mechanicals of it. It has to be something electronic.
