Need your guys' opinions to help me decide. I'm torn between the two rear bumpers for my pig. Have been looking at these for some time, and now that my rig is feeling reliable (and its not peeing anywhere) I am interested in working my OME HD rears. Both of these companies have GREAT reputations, and make what I consider the only rear bumpers of serious consideration.

Any opinion as to preferences, and why (ie: stronger hitch design, ground clearance, etc)?

I really like my 4x4 labs bumper. my bumper was one of the last Luke made before he went to his modular accessory concept. Too bad for me because I can't park my truck in my garage with the tire carrier and jerry can rack installed. The quarter panel protection is awesome. This bumper really saved my ass when I did the Rubicon.

can you only buy the 4x4labs from SOR (or is it MAF) AT any rate, can you buy it direct from the manufactor?

My SROR is on the way as I type this. Can't wait to see it in person. Jim's a great guy. Will build it any way you want. I got 1/4 protection, 2 swing arms, integral ladder. I'm so excited. I'll post pics once installed.

What do these things cost?

$1399.00 + shipping gets you:
tire carrier
hi-lift
dual fuel can holder or ladder

dual swing outs are extra (hardware only)
1/4 protection is a extra charge also.
usually a hitch is extra but it kinda depends.

:D

Damn those are nice bumpers, but way too expensive for me. The one I'm designing is a cross between the two.

That is a fine looking ride. I saw it several times in Moab and always liked it. The 4x4Labs bumper looks great-very nice departure angles.

I have a 1st Gen MAF 4+ w/ dual swing outs and I like it. I do like the way the SROR does a better job of addressing the little notch in the rear qtr panels if yours are uncut...I attached a pic of mine, check the SROR site to see his.

I have to say that from everything I've read (don't own either still running the stocker) They are both great bumpers. The SROR seems like a fair price when you consider how much time goes into that kind of fabrication not to mention the cost of materials these days. I don't know the cost on the 4x4 labs bumper. Both will do a great job of protecting your rear. So it comes down to who can give you the options and look you want for the best price. (Don't forget to factor in shipping, bumpers are heavy). Personally I like the SROR bumper just a little better, but would probably go throught the same process you are before making a final decision

I'll second that. Those are both great looking bumpers. I went the route of spending my cash on saws, grinders, drill press and a welder and I fabed both a front and a rear bumper plus about a million other things along the way.

Was that parking sign option extra, or does it fit in the high-lift holder?

Jim-Bob is going to re-work my old bumper with 1/4 protection. Doesn't know it yet, but he is.
