Hello Rosco,

I like the detachable top and folding windscreen too.

So you got a 73 in bad shape, and restored it. Now that is a project.

The engine was abused. The body made it worthy to restore, I guess.

A lot of work indeed, but it can be done. And you make it look interesting.

It did cost a lot more than I anticipated, but it drove like new.Barely a squeak or rattle anywhere.
If your down south ,you might be able to find a soft top 73,the ultimate in coolness:cool:

saw it for sale in the auto trader the other week, thought it was yours,

mid wheel base and a 1HZ, man i would have loved that combination,

my bj71 is a tad too short but i still love the thing

I still got people ringing about it. It seems the Autotrader is part of the Trading Post network and its on their web site australia wide till the 26th mar.
Tried to send them an email but if you dont fit into their problem list ,you cant get through:mad:

defently a lot easier to cruiser around town parking spaces etc as i found driveing my brothers 73 around the 75 arnt nearly as bad as the 79s for a turning circle and parking bits and my tray allwasys seems to hang out of the car bays a lil
i wish i could have all my 79 bits with a 75 series length chassis

Why dont you chop some of the tray length, you dont use it for work do you?

I had a Joondalup security patrol nearly run into my ass with their Prius after I left it hanging onto the road:D

Nah dont use it for work mate
the end of the tray is inline with the rear reece hitch ish with out the tounge and tow ball bit slid in , i have seen some rediculus over hang trays before though
its just the chassis length i guess

that would have been funny as watching one of those security clowns that are always speeding around the car parks as if its a race track and eating your solid towbar:D

this puppy looks very familia to your ex 73 mate ?

Well, thats a strange story. I saw it advertied in the quok. I rang the number and a woman answered and told me it belonged to her brother in law but he had sold his cruiser and had never got around to fitting it and it was still new.
I went there, gave her the money and it was mine
It had an ARB Midland sticker on it so I assumed it was an ARB bar.

I got ARB in Wangarra to fit it for $100 but they said it was not an ARB bar, probably from Walliston Steel Trays and they no longer make bullbars.
They were still happy to put it on.

A few months later I see a very similar ad with the same number in the quok so I rang the number and a woman answers the phone and tells me it belonged to her brother in law and he had sold his cruiser and no longer needed it and it was still new:eek:

Hello Rosco,

I do hope my 71 will drive like that as time goes by. Not that I am not taking care of that...

You gave me a reason to look for a 73.

Finally, a trip down south is on my to-do list. And again, you gave one more reason to do it.

Some bloke probly quit his job at a 4x4 bar place and took a few home and got his missus to sell em lol
That bar looks very close to my 79 bar i think

Possibly, but why the ARB Midland sticker? Im thinking they had something to do with the Midland store and the management got their asses kicked for selling someone elses bullbars through an ARB franchise;)
