1982 Toyota FJ40 Land Cruiser
Original Paint, No Rust, OEM PS & AC

This Land Cruiser was always in Arizona before I purchased it. It was reported that the Kemper Marley family, a prominent rancher, owned this land cruiser in the early days. My initial plan was to restore it. Finding it in such good original condition I cannot see a reason to change it. I am moving on to another project.
** BODY CONDITION **
Upon closer inspection I found this land cruiser has 99% original paint. It is Beige color code 464. Only paint work ever done was driver door appears to be repainted many years ago. There is NO rust anywhere on this land cruiser. Even the underside is in very good shape. Spotlights and an antenna have been removed. Unfortunately the holes for them remain, filled in with hole covers. Has FJ60 wheels on older 32x12.50x15 all terrain tires.
** INTERIOR CONDITION **
All seats, seat belts, and headliner are present in good condition. All lights, switches, controls in working condition. It had carpet glued down on all floor areas. The carpet has been removed. Luckily contact cement was not used just some type of spray glue. I have removed some of it, all the glue can be cleared with adhesive remover. This is the orangish areas shown in inside photos. Windows have been tinted.
** MECHANICAL CONDITION **
108,490 documented miles on stock Toyota six cylinder (2F 4.2 Liter). Equipped with factory power steering and air conditioning. A/C works and blows Cold. The controller box was sent off for repair and functions. Currently it is only used to operate a/c fan. A dash switch operates the compressor (I believe there is a bad or unhooked wire is the reason switch is needed). It has a new radiator and starter. Starts easily and will drive at highway speeds. Does not smoke. Drips a little fluid from transmission or transfer case and rear differential. After driving it a while there was a small coolant leak. I tightened up the bottom radiator hose and seemed to go away. It may have been from water pump but is not leaking now. Has an after market Holley carburetor. Starts immediately and is ready to drive.
This land cruiser has sat idle for a long time. After buying it I have tried to address any issues with it. I mentioned before a few drips it has. The more I drive it the less it drips. I believe the seals were dried out and now it is sealing better.
