Soft Top twist fasteners

Hello all,

I notice that Specter has an OEM and an aftermarket fastener with the OEM one about 2x the price. You can see them at the bottom of this page Specter Off-Road Land Cruiser Parts - Page 122 Land Cruiser Factory Softop Doors & Bows". Can anyone give a comparison between the two? Is the OEM fastener significantly better?

oem is real nice... and FYI you can get them way cheaper by calling cdan... got mine last year for about $5 each

You can get them at Orchard Supply for a lot less. I buy them in bulk for my business from Fasnap.

I get them from Toyota, in primer, with the correct 6mm stud on the back. I do not pay .86 each for them.

yes... sorry if I didnt make that clear... I bought OEM stuff from him...

then I am sure they are nicer than what I got, the ones I got have two holes for screws with the taper heads instead of studs. I actually would prefer one stud instead of two screws. cruiserdan, sorry if I sounded rude, now that I read my post it does sound abrasive, sorry, not my intention. Let me change it to say: if I sold the ones I bought for 5 bucks apiece, I would make a killing, though I might not have the happiest customers. thanks for listening -Matt

The fastenal fasteners don't come with machine screw studs. You have to choose from wood screw stud, or 2-holed studless.

I went with the 10-32x3/4. They're a bit long, but can be trimmed down if necessary. The 10-32x3/8 would probably be perfect, but they haven't had them for months now. I just realized that they don't actually come with the grommets. You have to buy them separately, but they're only $0.75 each.

Also, you don't have to buy them in groups of 10. You can order as many as you like. Just do the math and send him the paypal.
