I thought the title was fitting.

I had to go find a tool to photograph and searched my cruiser trip bucket. WHile I had it all out I thought it would be a good time to take a pic. It all fit's in the kitty litter bucket. SOme of you might give me a suggestion or two of what I might be missing.

A couple of things missing that I have loaned out but carry with me are:
Hub socked, deadblow hammer with brass on one end, a tube of bearing grease, a 75 piece socket set with allen keys for hubs, tire iron, jumper cables, small air pump and a tire plug kit with air guage.

THe stuff in the upper right corner were air tool that just wanted to make the photo but they are not part of the trip bucket and niether is the vise. THough it probable would come in handy. And if someone knows where my 10mm box wrench went to please PM me. Thats probably one of my most used tools besides the 12mm and 14 mm sockets.

birf, spair d-shaft, medi kit.

i wish we had enough time before a trip to lay everything out on a table and think about it.

me.... 6pm we'd be putting in the new clutch and then just leaving or one time we'd just put 4.88's, drove it around the block - and left for a cruiser meet in ocala.

Hey, does the bucket have a drain in the bottom and a tap on top? - cuz then you'd have everything AND the kittin sink. (pun intended)

I don't have the spare Birf and I know eventually I'm going to need it one day. I have a spare DS but have never taken it on a trip. THe First aid kit is a must definetly I have one in every vehicle I own and carry a nice one for club outing never know when your going to need it with my crowd.

Your ten and my thriteen wrenches must be have an affair....

Just a question.. why all 75 pieces? on the socket set.. I just carry metric stuff with me.

Emery cloth.

Have sent more than a few folks down the road after sanding their points quick with it.

I do not go anywhere without a strip.

LOL

75 because I've got saginaw, gm alternator and an assortment of standard nuts that the PO and I have put all over the cruiser.

depends how crazy it gets you might need a sock....:D :zilla:

LOL I needed that. I'll be laughing all night.

I carry two at all times.:flipoff2:

honestly, I DO carry a spare set of socks on the trail; nothing worse than having to scout/walk a water crossing to evaluate depth and then your feet being wet for the entire day.......

I have a big old rubbermaid-type tub with all that kind of stuff in it. No p/s fluid cause I carry ATF anyway. I've found antifreeze works great to help blow a bead back on a rim. No substitute for the BFH. Most used tool on the trail. Cheap ass socket set. roll of wrenches in one of those roll up sleeves. thick paper towels. Zip ties. Duct tape. 14ga. wire. 24" prybar. bunch more stuff. I love my big box, 'cause a wheeling trip in the 80 means throwing the box, the spare and the highlift in the back and leaving.

Now that I have the pig the box stays in the back and now has a birf and front axle tools.

...and I was gonna jump all over ya for using power steering fluid.

That Stanley screwdriver looks as bad as mine. That reminds me to trade it in for a new one.

.

Looks great, like the bucket idear. Mine consists of a small tool box with a few things in it. Nothing for serious repair, just small time repairs to get me home, unfortunately I'm never more than 30 miles from my house.

Did you have bailing wire in there?

flares and fire extinguisher in that order...

I bent it and cut a notch in it. It works great for popping door pins when taking soptop door on and off. It gets well used in the summer time.

Nice Fluke. I keep an old multimeter in there.
What else... vacuum gauge, 1/2 breaker, cheater pipe, bunch of fasteners, ditto on the sand paper, old timing light, feeler gauges, turkey baster, spare coolant and vacuum hoses, tape measure, mechanics wire, duct tape, JB weld, filter wrench...

.

Hmmm, lets see: I got the rubbermaid box thing too: fuel filters/fuel pump. spare rad hoses, plus a cheapo hose repair kit; zip ties; brake fluid, oil, rags various tools that seem to be necessary, plus cheapo tool kit (reminds me, I gotta replenish the broken ones...); extra oil, air compressor; bottle jack; firestarter stuff, hatchet (doubles as BFH); lube :flipoff2: ; kid's shovel (stows easily); duct tape; vacuum guage, spare points, etc (I run Pertronix); set of u-joints; a u-bolt, maybe I should have a pair...; a spring pin (someone always seems to need one...); propane filling adapter; haven't needed tie rods or birfields or driveshafts yet, but friends have had 'em. I'm forgetting a few things, i'm sure...

Ah, a well-equipped first aid kit is essential...
