Dealer let me take home a 2016 LC with 5500 miles on it for a overnight test drive. So far i'm in love! It reminds me of my old Land Rover Disco I had back in 2002.

I got them down to 71K. Good price?

Thanks
Dean

When you're up in that price neighborhood, what's a few grand one way or the other?

(Post pics of the rig!)

If it's within your budget, stop torturing yourself and sign the deal!

I would love to be in your shoes. I will never take home a new LC because when it was time to return it......They would have to pry that steering wheel out of my cold dead fingers. Just buy it. You only live once right and life is to short to drive anything but a 2016 LC.

You know you want it, you need it, you deserve it.

Most 16/17s I have seen advertised were all mid 70s and up. I did some national searches on cars.com and auto trader a month or so ago.
You might run some wide open nation wide searches for 2016 LCs and sort price lowest to highest to verify, but I am betting 71 is one of the cheapest listed if not cheaper then any listed.

Sounds like a pretty decent deal to me.

If it is a demo and you are buying as new go for it. If sold as used may be not worth as the interest rate is higher. Depending on the interest rate difference may be worth buying new. Just a thought in case you are not writing a check. I have bought 16 at invoice at 1.9% interest rate. At that point used was around 3%. Over period of x years you may end at the same point and have a brand new. Just a thought. Overall 71k seems as a good price. Dealer offered my 68K to buy my 16 to put me in 17 at invoice.

It's been titled even though it was driven by the GM of the dealership. So it's being sold as used. They're giving me 1.9%. Also putting a chunk of money down....

Thanks!

Bought my '16 on August 1st for just under 79. Only had 100 miles on it (now it is just over 10K). So 71K for a demo w/ 5K sounds decent. As others have said, go for it. Provided you are OK with the colors.

BTW, I came over from an LR4 (Disco 4).

Why would you go from a '16 to a '17? Color or just to get some miles back. Or was he just looking to make more money off you. ;)

Reasonable price for used 2016.....10-12% is doable on new 2017. See if you can get them to CPO for extra warranty.

Many new '16 & '17 sitting at Toyota dealers. Saw a '16 locally when in for service last
Friday and dealer said they'd had it 200 days.

This was Posted by a buyer on the Edmunds Toyota Land Cruiser Forum section in Dec. 2016 ↓↓↓↓

"Just to get back to everyone. I ended up buying the 2017 Land Cruiser today. Classic Silver Exterior/Black Interior. MSRP was $86,433 so had a few extra small options like all weather mats, wheel locks and remote start. My final purchase price was $75,433 before tax, tags and fees but included Freight/Delivery. TFS was offering 2.25% for 5 years (I was able to get slightly better financing at credit union with nothing down and up to 84 months if I wanted but TFS deal wasn't all that bad considering). I spoke with about 12 dealers while shopping around. I ended up negotiating and received pricing from 7-8 of those dealers. Most were in range of $78.5k to $82k and wouldn't come down when I told them I had an offer around $75k (most were skeptical or suggested I take the offer because they couldn't touch that deal). So I ended up going with the one dealer that made the most aggressive price offer. Seems like a pretty reasonable deal at 12+% off MSRP.

It's been 14 years since I bought my last Land Cruiser and that buying experience wasn't that great - this time around, however, the buying experience across all Toyota dealerships was really good - no shenanigans, all professionals, polite, respectful, etc.. Btw, everyone I dealt with was regular retail sales team, no fleet, etc..

Hope this helps others in the market. "

If it's been titled, they can and should sell it as a CPO. That gives you a longer power train warranty than new. The $71K is a great price for the upper Midwest, based on my search a couple months ago.

All kidding aside, the OP seems to have a fair and compelling deal on the table. Pending a real estate sale, I hope to be in the same position within the year and appreciate the MUD swarm/brotherhood offering real information, experiences and links as above.

An excellent example of what @woody has created here with years of effort - supported by an enthusiastic community. Thanks all around!

I was just playing around to see how much I can get for mine. If could get it within 5K between 16 and 17 maybe would be worth trading for a year newer. I have one of the earliest 16 so maybe some things I don't about may have been improved. At beginning I had to get headphones replaced with sound issues on one side. Computer had to had a patch to get distance to turn corrected. There may be other things I don't know about. Overall love it and no regrets.

And it's a done deal! I know I know... post pictures or it didn't happen. ;)
Congrats! Now the fun part - start "fixing" your new truck and get it dirty.....
