Where does one get historical wind and snow load for a specific location? I figured there are GIS people on here who might have the skinny!

you have to find where the closest weather station or weather tower. as far as who to ask, the National Weather service or a news outlet ate the only two who come to mind.

I need to find data that home builders use for construction. So far, I'm getting simple data like the snow level on a specific day but somewhere on the 'net there is a zone classification of some sort. Similar to a solar gain zone for PV system installers that they use for PV panel tilt angles.
