Snorkel install with carb cooling fan (1 Viewer)

Has anybody installed a snorkel on a 40 series that has a carb cooling fan ? I hold the template up to my 1980 FJ40, and it seems the hole will be right behind the fan assembly.

I still haven't got up he courage to cut a hole in my apron, but when contemplating the best approach I found the best solution is to remove the four screws that hold the snout on the carb fan, turn it and redirect the output with a flexible hose. Then you should have enough room to do your snorkel hose.
