I recently installed a snorkle on my BJ-42. The install was easy with nice fitment. I bought the snorkle kit from cruiser outfitters and I am very happy with this supplier. I have attached one picture, and will post more when I can. I would be happy to answer any questions.

cheers

Snorkle installed BJ-42

I was only able to find left hand snorkle kits, the kit came supplied with a really long hose for the BJ-42. Anyway it works and here are some pics.

no pinch whatsoever, in fact plenty of room, i used the extra long zip ties to strap it down so it would not move to close to power steering pump pulley.

well thats  b/c if you for some reason wanted to have just the stock air box it would be easy for you to disconect your snorkel.

Thank you for the compliment on my rig. This is my fourth Land Cruiser, I am hooked. I always wanted a diesel with a 5-speed. I plan to keep this one.

cheers

i agree, the snorkels i found were all for the LH side as well for the 40 series. i installed one on a gasser, nice fit, looks good... i was wondering how it would look on a 42, congrates.
you have to work with what is supplied...
cheers

I never found a right hand snorkel kit for 40 series .. someone have one . ?

I seem to remember reading somewhere that fitting a snorkle to the RH side of a RHD 40 series ,it partly obscures the drivers view.
As most,or all snorkles are made by aussie companies they never bothered with a snorkle for the RH side of a 40.

So when fitting a snorkle to the LH side of a LHD cruiser ,does it obscure the drivers view at all??

Having installed a couple of these snorkel's on different rigs I can say that the interference of the drivers view is minimal.

Looks AWESOME Damon

LH vs. RH... Safari Snorkel only has them for the LH, I think Damon looked into other options but everyone had a LH for the 40 as I recall? Needless to say I think it look great.

As Damon and I discussed, if you were worried about the tube over the radiator, it would be easy to get a custom tube (say 3") bent out of exhaust tubing that was rigidly mounted to the radiator frame, and then used the hose for the remaining connections :D

Looks good dude!
