Been enjoying my FJ60 this winter driving it a lot on the weekends here in Upstate NY. Noticed a smell coming from the engine after I turn her off where even I get to. Recent tuneup and running good. No issues with overheating and can't see any leaks when I look inside the engine bay. Any idea what could be causing the smell? Not a clutch or brake smell. ANy ideas what it could be other than driving a 35 years old FJ60 hard?

What does it smell like?

hard to say, kind of a burning smell....

If it's not fuel vapors, it's either grime being heated up or the brakes

so maybe just degrease the engine in the spring?

Burning like a steak cooking or electrical or oil?

maybe an oil burning smell

Probably an exhaust leak. See if your exhaust manifold gasket is leaking near the firewall.
