This may have been covered before, but I can figure out how to create a query since I don't even know the name this item.

What is the purpose and name of the small canister under the air filter canister?
Does it need to be replaced? How frequently?

thanks,

I think you're referring to the bowl that collects debris such as leaves that make it into the filter housing. You just take it off and shake it out occasionally. That one?

do a search for "tuna can"

Yes, that is what I am taking about. I just noticed it today and was wondering what was it for, it has a couple of quick release clamps similar to the ones on the air filter housing. I guess I will take it out and clean it later today.

Thanks,

Its used to cook the tuna in .. ;)

Cyclonic debris collector or something :)

The first time I unlatched and dumped the contents of said tuna can, I had a heck of a time getting the thing lined up so I could reattach.

It was a little off-center, but I couldn't tell from the angle I was working at...

Just thought I'd share...it goes back on easily, unless you use tard installation techniques like I did the first time.

AAhhhhh the tuna can again!
