Top of the Morning! Took the 03 to dealer to address a leak...oil pump and seal is fine...porous aluminum case was the diagnosis...$3900 repair..Ouch! Anyone else experience this? Advice?.....Thank you

That's a new one for me. Is the aluminum in question cast ?

I dont believe so. check valve cover gasket and oil dip stick tube o-ring first.

Where is it leaking from and how much? Pics? What case are they saying is porous? Never heard of that as a diagnosis.

What does this mean? I've heard some wild stuff from dealers before but this is a first?

get a 2nd opinion. I've never heard of porous aluminum Toyota anything. if you are leaking engine oil its likely valve cover gaskets, oil pain gasket, etc.
