Thot you had a Cummins also. Glad to hear tht you're another satisfied customer. Are you running a 50 or 75mm lift to stuff the 315s?

Yes I have a cummins 12V.. That adds about 300lbs over the 1FZ-FE...not much more that the difference between a 1HDT-FT cruiser. I have the 75mm springs.

I dont have the front radius arm relocation brackets, but I do have Slee billet radius arms.

Slee Offroad Caster Correction plates

So to answer your question, 75mm stage 1 lift. You could probably get away with the 50 but I like the stance of the 75mm a bit better. Throw an ome steering stabilizer on that and I can go 75 down a highway with just my pinky on the wheel no problem. And you could probably find the lift a bit cheaper but I talked to the endless horizon guys on here and they were super helpful with all my questions so I had to go with them. (Thanks boxrocket as well!) if you want some pics of the cruiser just lmk, probably due for a little photo shoot haha.

Thx Zypher and Mryanangel for the answers and ideas. Guess I'm not quitting my day job yet. And Zypher, Cruiser porn is always good

Some poser shots for your enjoyment. I don’t think I was loaded up in the rear when I took the photos, just had the tire on the back.

I just ordered the dobinsons 3 inch tapered set with 30 mm spacers up front, and caster correction plates and it was like 1600

Are you sure about that weight difference? A Toyota HD diesel is physically a lot smaller than a 6bt.

Not sure what the HDT or the 1FZ weigh, but I seem to recall Roadkill weighing a fully dressed 6BT in the Cadillac diesel swap episode, and it was something like 900 lbs.

Sweet set up. Do you run DC front shaft with Slee radius arms? What is the front pinion/shaft working angle?

I do have a DC front shaft, but I dont think it is needed at all with the slinky kit. I used to have 5" OME comp springs and a lot less weight which did require a DC shaft.

I' own a 97 and am currently undecided on springs. Slinky or Dobinsons? My truck is down to minimal as my shocks went bad. So I'm doing a 3" lift. I need them asap. Trying slinky, but idk how long it'll be. But great read

Call Mill Creek Overland and see what their status is on getting the Slinky's on the shelf. Should be pretty soon based on what I've heard/read recently.

I used to work in a truck shop where we had a lot of Cummins B engine powered trucks. I got curious and looked around that weight difference is about 500 pounds between a B and a Toyota diesel. The B is about 1200 pounds dressed the 1HDT-Ft is about 800 pounds.

I've got the 3" tapered Dobinsons heavy's. Installed everything a couple of months ago along with Delta arms and panhard relocation bracket. I have found that the heavy's are too heavy for me and will be changing out to regulars very soon. I've got bumpers, spare, winch, sliders and a 24g long rang aux tank, but don't really run around with too much other stuff. I like the Dobinsons and find their gear to be a good value and frankly, have more confidence in their shocks than Icon. Saying that may stir up the interwebs but I've seen way too many failures with Icon and their new rebuild policy is not very consumer friendly. I had a long travel 4Runner and got spoiled with the plush ride so looking forward to going with the softer springs.

With your Reg almost any springs you get are going to give you more lift then advertised as your reg is stock = much lighter then most.
I recently was able to try out some Slinky mediums, I felt that they were a bit to stiff for the lighter load technical rock crawling stuff that I do. They did feel at home doing high speed dirt roads and sand dune bashing. JMHO
I am currently running The dobinson 2.5" lift springs (C97-146 VT) with There (GS45-912) Shocks. I am getting just over 3" of lift with this set up, (My Reg is Light) and very happy with the way it rides on and off road. and a bit easier on the check book, again JMHO Cheers 😉

Sorry to revive an old thread, does anyone know if the Icon shocks included in the slinky kit are valved/tuned any differently than the shocks you can buy directly from Icon for the 80? Also, who is the current go to vendor for slinky kits?
