Sammy, did you weld on the Link sliders before the body lift? Or did you cut them and re-weld them afterwards?

The armor-all on those tires and all that shiny black in that top pic certainly do justice to the "Men In Black" heritage of your fine truck :grinpimp:

A quick ROTW just for you...
Right on. Thanks.

So, roughly 9" of lift (Combined). Nice

The sliders don't look bad at all w/ a 2" BL.

I used a 2" lift bought from Roger Brown. I had to trim the lower part of the radiator shroud to allow clearance for the fan. I am considering an electric Ford fan that are so popular in the future. I destroyed the rear most driver's side body mount because of rust. This was replaced with a new one. The transfer case shifter was cut off and rotated 180 degrees then welded. This was needed so the shifter lever would not hit on the linkage under the center console. Without doing this I was not able to put the truck in low range. I did remove all the interior seats to get at all the body mounts. Other than this, the install was very simple. It took me two days working alone in my garage. I am very happy with it. An additional benefit is that I gained extra room to run a 3" exhaust system with a single cat tucked up higher for better protection.

Did you do anything on the steering linkage and or anything in the engine compartment? Thanks for the infos.

the sliders were welded on before the b/l....that's about the only time the truck has been "men in black" clean in a long time so I thought it would be wise to take a few snaps.

Quick take on the sliders...weld on it fine, BUT go with a brand/shop that makes sliders and knows the weight of the truck, regardless of weld on or bolt. the metal tech ones are great and by looking at the pics I wouldn't hesitate to go with a set from stubs's either.

We need more ROTW on body lifts. PKP80, that black is beautiful! ;)

That's tough lookin' for sure sam. Nice rig.

You could always just do like me and copy tirediron. Medium lift with portals and 39's.

Thanks for the kind words...
with God's will and works money:grinpimp: I will eventually coil it over and do all kinds of interesting things to it, but thats a few years down the line.

I figure worst comes to worst delay having a kid for 1 year when the marriage thing happens hopefully and dump the cash into the truck before the wife can think twice about it. hopefully she'll never read this thread:D .

I herd armor all give you like 2 more inches in travel, and lets 33's clear an OME 3" lift thanks to the added lube on the side wall.

Back to my rock now.

It's about time you left the island and came back to the mothership...I know a 6,000lbs white beauty that's dying for your attention. She's a little fat in the ass and needs a little workout to tighten the rubber, but I think you're good for it.

She might even be willing to let you tear her apart and long as you're gentle and Promise to coil her over.:flipoff2:

Friends don't let friends use body lifts :flipoff2:

why? because it gives same clearance as spring lift without lifting all the heavy bits -chassis, engine, drive train, tanks

only downside i see is more work than spring lift, but cost less too, and obviously no increase in suspension travel/flex - good and bad

MSG, do i see a different front grill on your 80...is that a home made version?
airlaird

Yes, billet grill which is now blacked out along with all the chrome trim on the front of the rig....I can't remember where I got it from, but it took a while to cut it up as well as the stock grill in order to make the billet fit properly (still doesn't). I'd imagine they have ones that are easier to install it's been a good 5 years since I bought that.
