So I am trying to hunt down the part number for these sockets. CALTERM 08584 is not cross referencing with anyb other makers (delco, standard, ect). Given that Christo stated this part number and producer specifically I hesitate to stray from the calterm brand. Has anyone else done this mod with another 90 degree ground/double contact light socket. If so do you have the part number?? I have some time today and was hoping to get this done for the wifey's 80. Safety first you know.

Thanks for you help.

I quoted that part number because that is what I used. Doesn't mean something else won't work. Have also seen people use a double filament bulb and replace the Toyota one.

Dan,
I also was doing a seach for a comparable pair (mainly looking in the local auto parts stores) of the Calterm 8584 but all the ones I saw seemed too big for the space. I finally googled the Calterm 8584 and found that http://www.doyourself.com had them in stock. At a total of just over $15 with shipping, the store would ship them ground. I've wanted for a year to buy them, I think I could wait 4 to 5 more days to receive them.

I plan to put them in over the holiday.

I just did this mod, and did not use the socket that Christo, suggested. I went with a similar socket that I found at Pepboys. Worked out great.

mAYBE IT'S A SECRET..............:D

Allright, so I imagine another one may work. I am a cruiser dunce so when someone like Slee gives a specific manufacturer part number I tend to want to minimized my error by emulating something well done.

It seems like there were others I came across today that may have worked out well but I have not seen that part of my truck and am not familiar with how tight a fit it is going to be.

I just started to pull the harness from my 40. I am going to lay it all out and work my way through it. If I get those parts that will be a nice "clean diversion" for a while.

By the way Cristo I emailed you about he headlight harness relays and a few other ??. Feel free not to answer till after the 28th:D (I called too).

I'll post some part number if I do it with another brand. Thanks.

Dan

My bad, when I get a chance I'll get the info and post it for you guys.
