When going through the instructions for mounting the bumper to an LX 470, it states you have to Convert your indicator lights……

This is from the website copy and pasted

  1. If this bumper is fitted to a LX470, the side marker lights need to be converted to marker / indicator lights. The part numbers below are for the 100 Series Land Cruiser Marker light housings, bulb sockets and pigtails. These can be used and wired into the LX470 to have a dual element bulb that can function as marker and indicator light

Can anyone explain why?

Bumper is here and plan on installing it this week unless swapping the indicator lights this is a must do.

You have to rewire your side marker lights as turn signals. Lots of info on the forum if you search.

Because the LX470 turn signals are in the factory bumper, while the LC turn signals are next to the headlights?

You don't "need" LC corner lamps if you are willing to modify your LX ones. The LC 2-filament bulb-socket is larger than the LX single filament bulb-socket.
