I need to get a new skidplate made - stock 4spd case and tranny in stock location - does anyone know of a drawing or template that is floating around that I could just send to my local steel shop to make things easier on them and me both.

I'm also not sure on material - being a stock application I wouldn't mind going for aluminum and speculating that in a couple years I will do a drivetrain swap of some sort and my stock spec skidplate may have value to someone else on this board.

Or would 3/16" steel and a couple cross braces of strap be sufficient?

These recent belly clearance threads have got me curious - thanks for any help.

someone in the Vendor corner has skids already bent and ready to go....IMO, by the time you chase down drawings, talk with the local shop, and have them do a one-off item, you'll be money ahead and LOTS of time ahead to purchase....

3/16" is workable with support....rail to rail, probably 25-30" long, and keep everything from the front edge LONG and smooth to the t-case drop, then angle back up gently. My old skid was indestructable, but the abrupt drop for the t-case area was a rock catcher...
