Looking to buy some skid plates, and trying to save on these outrageous shipping costs. Prob looking at ASFIR, or SLEE. I looked at some ASFIR the other day and a trans & transfer case skid was $408 to ship to Kentucky, and the parts were around $300.

If someone is looking at purchasing as well, we could combine our order and save split shipping.

Anyway just a thought, if anyone is interested please let me know.

I know we live in a different world (than what we faced two years ago) but $408 for shipping? My shipping for my Asfir skid was trivial. Did you reach out to Asfir to see if there are better options?

Just feedback on overseas stuff; coming from Israel, freight is up like 3-5x right now. At my work we were just quoted $21k for a 40ft container if we wanted FOB in the same week. Was like $4k 2 years ago and $7k last year. It's also the peak of shipping season right now, carriers are crazy backed up as sellers try to get last minute inventory in.

ASFIR pricing is probably competitive right now. Crazy to say but they may be losing money on it at that price with what I see on quotes every day.

It might get a lot less costly to ship in a few weeks, might be worth asking them about it.

Their shipped price makes Dissent look even more appealing.
Yeah, except Dissent isn't selling 100 series skids right now--their site says "unavailable until 2022"; I wrote them last week to find out when in '22 they'd be available to order and haven't heard back yet. And I think Aluminum prices are way up, too, which will affect pricing when we can order.

Dissent is 14-16 weeks out on everything, at least when I ordered 4-6 weeks ago. Their shipping isn't cheap either... But it's freight so you can combine shipping. I bought another swing arm :D.

ASFIR shipping was expensive earlier this year as well. Before I bought Dissents I checked ASFIR out again, and their shipping was only 75 bucks more than in early 2021 (according to my spreadsheet), which surprised me given shipping has gotten worse throughout the year.

Either way, shipping is expensive right now. ASFIR doesn't really give shipping deals... As said above they very well could be losing money on it. Gotta suck it up or try waiting it out.

I'm gonna get in touch with a friend that's a fabricator, and see what we can come up with. These high prices and long delays are ridiculous IMO, and if I hear
one more covid excuse I'm gonna fn blow.

I'm in Cincinnati and have plans for this next year, leaning towards Slee but haven't fully explored yet Asfir/Slee/Dissent differences. Open to discussing group buy if it works for all involved. There is a good LC specialist shop in northern KY that might have others interested and might be a good delivery/pickup point. Feel free to PM me.

Hi, hope all is well!

Just wanted to drop a quick note here :)
All of our shipping enjoys 50% off original price. So the 408$ is actually 204$ cost for shipping the two plates you mentioned. Delivery discount will be calculated at checkout.

We know how shipping is a major factor in an online order and thus, the 50% discount for all online orders (no mini. order required).

We hope you keep choosing us and believeing in our product - we appreciat it very much!

Cheers,
Reut @ ASFIR
