can we take off the cheap, misplaced looking cowl lights?

Awesome transformation!

Thanks! I assume you’re referring to these? PO added them to add extra lighting for night runs with his son. They’re functional so I plan on keeping them as of now.

Cowl lights?

Teaser pic since the cab came back from paint. I think I'll start a thread on the build when I have a minute.

Drool. Looks Awesome! Love laying fresh paint! Here’s the paint job I did on my last project:

Couldn’t seem to find the belt line weatherstrip for a 1980 so I just shortened the weatherstrip from an RN30 model since they have the same attachment clips.

Where did you find these? I need some too. Thanks.

USPS dropped off the ac bracket today. Painted it and installed a new ac idler pulley from 22RE Performance.

Mounted it on the block (Need to grab a shorter bolt for the last mounting hole)

Plan to mount the compressor next. Has anyone found a compressor replacement for this bracket?
Napa and Autozone didn’t have it. Didn’t find much online either.

I looked on RockAuto and they don’t have the compressor, but it looks like they have the parts you would need to rebuild one. If you have the original, or can source one fairly cheap, you can go that route perhaps.

You have a sweet ride, and your family seems like a real tight-knit bunch. Keep it up!

Looks like something like this one would fit: AC Compressor fits Toyota Pickup Starlet w/o Clutch (1 year Warranty) R57323 | eBay

But it does not look like it comes with the manifold top plates on the compressor.

Edit: I looked right past the fact that it also does not come with the clutch pulley.

Yup that’s the one I purchased with this NipponDenso clutch:

Still searching for the manifold top plates.

Were you able to identify where the leak(s) were coming from?

Project truck here appears to be leaking from the rear perimeter seal.

One suggestion. Before doing this job I take the truck to a car wash and pressure wash the knuckles as best I can. I also make sure each time I wash the truck to hit the knuckles. I hate working on greasy/dirty junk.

Dash cover looks good. Did you build a new fuse panel?
