Well I was driving today and my alternator decided to stop spinning...

2H - 24V

Does anyone know whats the best option from here?

Call 4 Wheel auto buy a new one?
Find a rebuild kit (can I get one easily in Calgary)
And would my Yota dealership have anything (Its a sunday and everyone is closed right now, but good info for tommorow morning)

Thank You

Andrew

pull off you vaccuum pump, see if it is frozen or if it's your alternator.

In most cases you can rebuild them at a fraction of the cost of a new one. The only thing you have to be careful with is the pump at the back of the alternator. My rebuilt one lasted only for a bit because the splines on the alternator were shot - which at the time I did not pay attention to. Also if you go for a rebuild they can wind it differently so it outputs more Amps which is great if you plan on running extra lights, etc.
