I have mine mounted on the front bullbar, but even though it's black the reflection from the roof mounted LED lightbar is ruining my night vision.

There's only four streetlights on this island (which is bigger than Singapore and has 1,000s of wild cattle roaming on the dirt roads). I figure there would be similar antenna light reflection issues with the aerial mounted to a front guard.

We drive underneath trees all the time so roof rack mount isn't a good option either.

I'm stumped. Has anyone solved this (admittedly first world) problem?

Think you could mount it on the back hatch with something like this?
I know the hood is a better location for reception but it's something anyways.

I was just testing the HF antenna on the left and I have since removed it. The VHF / UHF antenna on the right is still installed

If you haven't seen it GME do a 2.1 or 4.5 dBi gain on glass antenna which can be placed on the rear quarter glass, very discreet and 4.5 dBi is a very nice mix of you're living in a hilly area and have some flats, if you're interested in getting rid of the antenna off the exterior
