Anybody got any pics of their white 80s with them removed?

I took mine off a few weeks ago, I cut the molded front piece into a mini mudflap.

Either you take off yourself, or bring a rope to strap them on your roof for the drive home after wheeling. :hillbilly:

How do I take em off? Can I put em back on if I don't like em?

yep - it's easy.

Just crawl under there and remove seven or eight bolts, iirc. They are pretty easy to remove and/or reinstall. Just be careful to not let them fall on your head when you take the last few bolts out.

uh, yeah. You should definitely pull those, dropping the weight increases your hp to weight ratio ;)

I picked up some offset wrenches that made the job a snap.

X2. Also, hold on to them, unless you plan on keeping your Cruiser forever. They guy who bought mine really wanted the originals. Helped with the sale that I still had them.

Looks mucho better without the boards IMO.

how many trucks came with front mud flaps?
it's my understanding that they did not come with them in the U.S., is this true?

I'm by far in the minority on this one, but I like the look with the running boards on.

That being said, I took mine off. If you plan on going off road you will want them off. I plan on putting sliders on, so that will bring back some of the aesthetic, give protection and make it easier for shorter folks to climb in. I cut my front caps to sit on the end of the front wheel flares, kinda like charleston, 'cept I didnt shape them into a mud flap.
