Hi everybody,

I am looking at purchasing a double ended ram for full hydro steering. Believe it or not the Trail Gear ram is more expensive than the PSC. It does look like the Trail Gear ram has more features. I am sick of messing with my steering and still not having it right. :bang: Anybody have experience with a comparison between the 2 rams?

Thanks for your help. Easter Jeep is about 2 1/2 months away!!:steer::clap:

if you DO decide to go the trail-gear route, get on pirate and go to the misc. vendors section, there are two vendors on there that will give you a better price and free shipping on trail-gear stuff.....i have that ram and it's actually pretty nice

What is the advantage of a double ended vs a single?

or is a double really only for full hydro?

The advantage of double vs single is that a double ended ram will require the same amount of turns from center to right as is from center to left. A single ended ram requires more steering input on one side than it does the other side. It depends on how you have the ram mounted. I am pretty sure that the act of pushing the ram back into the cylinder requires more input.

I have seen some single ended ram setups that work great. I however am tired of messing with my steering...........I want it to work great like so many other things on the truck do. I am currently running a surplus center single ended ram and don't like it.

Same amount of power / speed turning right or left as well as what bouncin betty said.

I've been using my dbl ended surplus center rams since 2007 and haven't had a single issue or leak. The mounting "feet" aren't as flexible in their mounting configuration as clamps, but they're stronger.

Surplus Center

Ahh that makes perfect sense!

I have noticed on both my truck it is a little slower one way VS the other, but never really thought about why.
