I'm ready to remove the AHC from my LX and was wondering if anyone knows about a shop in the Los Alamos, Santa Fe or ABQ area that has done this.

May not be that complicated but more than I can handle.

Robbie can do it.

I think Slee makes some kind of kit to put the AHC permanently in HI position. Or he can tear it out for you if you want.

AHC = ?????

Come on guys. AHC = Automatic Height Control. It's a push-button lift with a High and Low setting.

I thought the same thing. all I could think of was Allspark Helix Control. he has a transformer.:D

Laughing hard. I had a feeling I wasn't the one. Glad to take the bullet for those of you too chicken to speak up. :flipoff2:

Your memory must be shorter than your manhood. Juane discussed it at length a few months ago and posted dozens of pictures. When do you retire?

Yep Auto Height Control. I have the mod and want to remove one more fail point. Who is Robbie and Juane?

Robbie is a Cruiser specialist and will do about anything Cruiser related. He lives out from Golden and is heavily utilized by 'Mud members. He goes by Robbie in the forum. Juane is an expat HDC member now living in Salida. He goes by Juane in the forum but his name is John or Tobascofish or just 'Fish. Juane had Robbie come to Salida to build a hundy for his GF and they removed the AHC during the build.

I realize you asked for someone local but Robbie is the very best and he will come to you. If you decide to bring him here then let us know. A few years ago he was here in Albuquerque for several weeks doing various projects for HDC members.

I bet a case of beer, couple racks of ribs combined with a large hammer, we can take that AHC out..... :hillbilly:

There should be couple of writeups of this procedure in the 100 section, no?

Coming into the conversation late.....
Yep, Beowulf's recollection is sharp as a tack.
Pulling the ACH system is a matter of locating all the parts and ripping them out. Not technically difficult, just physically a pain in the ass requiring extreme contortions and getting into tight spots. Also quite messy - and whatever you do, do not compress the shocks with the hydraulic fitting aimed at your face!

Paid through the nose to a shop to do it here locally. But the end result is awesome.

Behold:

2.5" Slee heavy lift

Looks like you're ready to go!

We've historically done a New Year's Day snow run. Stay tuned here to see if there's interest this year.

I like it.

You need bigger tires.
Then you'll need an even bigger lift.
Soon after the bigger lift you'll need newer and bigger tires. :grinpimp:

We've got another hooked on the cycle of life.
