I just moved to Richmond, VA with my family and fleet of Toyotas - 80 Series, 4 Runner & Sequoia. Can anyone recommend a good independent shop in the Richmond, VA area? Thanks for the help.

Ottram is a bit north of you but well regarded here. May not be too convenient for quick maint items.

Toyota Corner

For big cruiser specific items I would try Otramm or Iron pig, but they are a ways away.

I worked at Paradise garage in the Fan. They are a good trustworthy general repair shop. We had a couple regular Land Cruiser owners and tons of 4runners through there. If you are on the West End try @matzell he is a cruiserhead/toyota nut and runs a shop over that way.

Paradise seemed like good guys, they helped me pull my roof rack off after I drove across country and couldn't fit in my parking garage with it on. They also installed my new suspension on my black truck. I tried to go to matzell's shop a couple of times but for some reason it just never seemed to work out. I would show up when the shop employees were gone for a wheeling weekend or something. It is just more like a gas station garage.

I'm biased but I own a shop in Ashland (VA Garage). More than happy to take care of the yotas along with everything else. I've been wheeling a 1st gen 4runner for years and have owned a ton of Toyotas over the years. Feel free to hit me up.

Not sure what happend when you showed up. Selling gas is the small part of our buisness. We are a full service shop. Just did a timing belt job on a 2004 Landcruiser today. We can do general service, install lifts and accesories and I do some fabrication work as well. I would be happy to talk with you about any needs you have.

Nothing happened. I came out to talk to you guys and the garage was closed and they told me you had gone wheeling for a weekend, and the next time I came out the guy in the shop told me I should just stick around or wait for someone else to come back I couldn't wait around that day so I just said I would come back and haven't had a chance to come back out yet. I am sure I will be back out there again soon.

I appreciate all of the replies. I mostlly handle work on my 80 myself but I believe I need a sending unit replaced on 04 4 Runner and that’s not something I want to deal with.

What makes you think the 4th gen needs a sending unit?

If in Richmond you can look at the mural on the side of the building. Yes we work on Land Cruisers!
