Edit: (I tried to remove the poll and couldn't figure out how to. You can disregard it)

I replace my shocks way too frequently I think. I'm trying to get a feel for what others are doing. I was going to post a poll, but I can only figure out how to post one question. Here are your questions and answer options. Combine answers or add one if I left it off.:

C: 10-20
D: Every weekend if possible

Wow, this is a tricky poll to unpack.

Q-1: What kind of shocks are you running?
Both B and C: OME in the front, Fox 2.0 ifp in the back.

With Options:
Both sized for 2" lift, but no frills

Q-2: How do you drive it?
All of the above except the "slow as you can" part. I do a little of everything, but I'm usually going as fast as I can comfortably/safely go except in the rocks.

Q-3: What kind of weight do you have on it sitting in the driveway?
A lighter than stock (no bumper, rear seats removed).

Q-4: When you drive it to it's potential in your driving style scenario, how much extra weight do you put in it/on it? Include Passengers, gear, spares, trailer...whatever
B. 1000 lbs. 1500 lbs. 1100lb trailer and gear for two people and an 11 pound dog.

Q-5: Driving style
E. Obstacle? That's not an obstacle.

Q-6: How many trips like this do you take in a year?
A: 1-4

Q-7 and final question: How often do you need to replace your shocks (I didn't ask how often you DO replace your shocks, but how often you NEED to.)
2. Every 2 years Not really sure how to answer this question. My OME's are ancient and probably not doing much. My Foxes are not blown, but underdamped for what I need. I have soft springs (TJM) which I like, but don't really know how to go about matching them to a more performance-oriented shock. Right now it just bobs and wallows all over the road. It is a lexus, after all :hillbilly:

That's too many questions with vague answers for me to do on my phone.

I'll come back later.

OME Nitro shocks, stiff version.
Also OME Heavy springs f/r.
Normally +200 front
Normally +600 rear
Travel +1500 rear
0-4 trips per year
DD at 15-20K/year
Fast on clean open road, fast on gravel, slow on washboard, ruts, or rocks.
Have 30K on current shocks
PO had s***ty Monroe shocks when I got it, still drove 70K on those.

I'll replace shocks when it's handling bad, or leaking, but not before.

I know. Too many questions. Too difficult to answer. My bad. Thanks for taking the time.

I'm seriously considering reservoir shocks, because when I considered changing my driving habits I didn't get very far.

I suppose it could be swaybars...
