Every time i step out of my BJ60 i get small shock closing the door. I'm assuming its a ground, but where would i look other than the battery ??? Is the vehicle grounded anywhere else???

This happened to me last week! It's got a small short somewhere, you are the ground!! (i.e. not insulated by the tires). I found that my hood was hitting the positive on one of my battries. Could be about anywhere.

I would be intrested to see if there was some draw in the electrical system. Could you get a volt meter in there and take some measurments? Very intresting problem...

sounds like a static charge... ever see cars with those flat rubber things trailing from behind touching the ground (don't see them too often these days); those ground the chassis to prevent the build up of static.... try it, the shock will go away.

X2 on the static charge, i had a mazda that had a round thingy on the door that you were supost to touch, to ground yourself before you steped out of the car it worked......

x3 on static charge. the rubber earth straps are also used to prevent children (and adults) from getting travel sickness. should work with a strip of insertion rubber connected to the bumper rail.

For all of you who thought it was a static charge you were correct. Did the rubber strip thing and it seemed to have worked, easy fix for a strange problem.
