As I thought, I have a clearance problem between my left front shock tube and the steering arm. At the worst it JUST grazes the tube when the tires are turned.
My idea was to extend the shock tower mount by welding and through bolting an extention, off the top. If I go out
2 1/2" (center to center) I will have about 1 1/2" of clearance between the shock tube and the steering arm.

1.) Do I need this much or more/could get by with less?

2.) Any other tried successful ideas?

Note: 66 with a 74 steering pivot.

Thanks for the help!

my rig with a 2.5" lift had the same problem. when i put on mini truck steering it cured it. would running the shocks upside down help? maybe you could get ford f250 shock towers?

As dylan mentioned power steering should cure the rub without suspension being compromised. Do NOT run shocks upside down as they will cavitate and performance will suffer drastically.
