Not sure why but when I first start up my 94 land cruiser and put it in to reverse the whole car drops and makes a banging noise, any ideas.

High around 1800 maybe, but once they come down it doesn't do it.
X2 or check your coolant temp censor, if your ECU thinks the truck is still cold it'll hold the idle up until the glitch is goneI would start with the throttle linkage. I was fiddling with mine adjusting it. I started the truck and it shot to 2500. It was just my faulty adjustment because I failed to read the FSM correctly.
