When you remove the shifter tower If you dont put it back on centered can you have shift problems? I am coming out of first gear and was told the the plate my be to far foward not letting shift fork go all the way back and suggestion ?

Year and model of cruiser? 3spd, 4 or 5?

If you misalign any part of the shift tower, you will find that your truck will only move in one gear and will lock up in all the others and not move, so I do not think this is your problem.

Is your tranny in a stock setup, year and engine-wise. The reason I ask is that if there is a transplant involved, you could have sheetmetal clearance issues.
