Does anyone know where to source a replacement shifter knob? I've searched around but those that I have been able to find are surprisingly expensive.

Not rumor, same part up to 2002. You can use the 00-02 LX wood leather shifter as well

I assume we're talking about the transmission shifter knob.

What's the trick to removing this piece? Specifically how does one fish the O/D OFF switch wires through the shifter knob?

Sorry if this is a hijack, but it seems appropriate.

Anyone have a part number by chance? I ordered part number 3630360240c0 at the advice of Toyota but it's the t-case lever and not the transmission lever knob.

I just got a quote from them to do the shift knob for $140... It is a lot cheaper than OEM replacement...
