Ok thanks. I understand that but it seems hard to think they compressed down 7mm over time. I'll just have to grind down the 31mm springs and make em work.

Searching the Toyota Parts Deal website, They're showing those parts numbers that Mr.Boatman listed as fitting 74 through 83, essentially all the 4 speeds. They also show 3 required. "90501-14772"
Possibly the springs you found in there aren't correct. I would of figured that all the H-42s would be the same. Did your transmission guy try to compress the longer ones down? I had quite a bit sticking up when dropped in. About 8 coils.

They recess into the top plate as well, so dont forget that.

Thanks !! He actually sent the 31mm back and after striking out he asked if I could track down the correct size. I'm going to order 3 of the 31mm's and I'll make sure to have him try compressing down first.
