Fun "Bling Bling" project was never intended for this build, so hopefully won't unsettled cruiser gods by any means.

Last 10 years were kind of roller coaster for me and during this time things I collected and made were all over the place in various locations. Today I found these in one of the boxes and had a huge smile on my face.

This "Blast From The Past" is for you Phill @FJnotCJ, I am pretty sure you will remember this little project.

Removed speedo for restoration and on a close inspection casing seems to be in pretty good nick, will try to just clean it up and save original stamps etc. BTW build date stamped on it is actually 8/10.

@nuclearlemon, Talk about attention to detail, no Chinese stuff on our cruisers. Managed to find some "Made In Japan" chains for door stopper project. Not to mention smoother one is Japanese stuff.

What would be the best way of poking infamous FJ25 type hole in my 40 rims? Would this potentially put rims off balance, since they didn't come with hole from the factory?

Seems like it should be possiable. I dont think FJ25 rims are counter ballanced before weights are added. Maybe ask your tire shop and see what they think.

I found couple of engineering places who can potentially do it however they think it will put rim off balance. May be they are just going by general perception. Good idea, I will check with a tyre shop.

Just in time. Very light surface rust, no pitting at all. This will save me a project for sure -

Woohoooo! Canvas has arrived, "Haartz Stayfast Tan/Tan". Same German canvas quality but no "Criss Cross" wave inside and identical in colour from both sides (unlike German canvas which is black from inside).

They are 16" and 5 1/2" wide (That's why I mentioned "Factory Wide Track"). Honestly I wouldn't have bothered poking holes on them if they were 15". Tyres on them are 7.50 R16

Not sure, I will ask them and let you know. - (Update: Shop used water jets for perfect cut, as per them any other method won't cut this clean)

Formula matched to "Twist Turnbuckle" OEM colour, now rest of the soft-top hardware can be painted in OEM colour. Surprisingly in certain light conditions it also looks very close to Sheriff's original colour.
