Gentlemen – she would not have been able to start, let alone finish, this adventure without your help. It was a fantastic trip and we raised a good amount of money for a worthwhile cause. I know I have inadvertently omitted here others that have helped me, I am still a bit sleep deprived so please accept my apologies and appreciation.

THANK YOU

Is this the Copperstate Rally?

Is this the Copperstate Rally?

Yep - 5th annual Copperstate Overland.

We ran the Copperstate 1000 in the spring and apparently they confused us with decent people because they invited us to do this one as well. I pulled this out of a carport in San Diego or the 1000. It was a mess - had to replace a lot of metal on it.

Super neat attendees on the event and the group that puts it on is just full of fantastic people.

Where did you go and what was it for? Looks like a great trip.

@ducktapeguy - we started/ended in Flagstaff and did a four-day route through the eastern and then north rim of the Grand Canyon, working our way to Lake Powell, then explored some areas north of that in Utah and worked our way from their back through dry riverbed‘s, mesas and finally the black cinder area of AZ.

There will be more pictures from the event posted soon and I will add them as I can.

I’ve spent a fair amount of time in Arizona but it was pretty mind blowing how much of the northern part of the state I missed by staying on the pavement.

The FJ40 handled everything we threw at it in stride, and there were quite a few technical areas each day. We lost a couple rigs to mechanical failures on the event but not this one (due in large part to IH8MUD).
