Just did a shackle reversal outboard (kit from Proffit’s) to hang the FJ60 axle under my 74 Cruiser. Question is, does the long end of the spring need to be the shackle end? If so, this bumps my axle about 3.5” forward, which I think I might keep it this way for the extra wheel base. This also has a sweet approach angle!
Otherwise, do most guys just keep long side of the springs towards the front to keep same wheel base? These are 4” lift springs.
For those who have moved there axle forward by flipping the springs, do you just shim the front? Alter the front fenders at all? Appreciate any input. Thanks

Haha, I had the axle blasted and coated. The rotors were pitted bad anyway so I’m going to bring them in to get resurfaced.
Ah! Gotcha.
You never know….
