Shackle bolts and nuts - not long enough? (1 Viewer)

Ok, I didn't even give this a second thought until someone mentioned it me, but are these bolts not long enough?
Are the washers to thick?


 
not ideal, but they will work..
 
The bolts are long enough, just the nuts are too thick.
It is cheaper to replace the nuts than the bolts.

now that's why they pay you the big bucks...and if they don't they should.
 
All those nuts are for is to hold the pin in.

Actually, they make shallow locking nuts. (nylon or preferably steel) Get a couple and you will be golden..

It is nice to keep them just snug.. That way you are not distorting the shackle.
