Apparently the angle of my front + rear shackles are....wrong. They've been this way since i bought my rig in 2012. Ive only ever driven my rig and not really sure how the ride is when thinkin of suspension...Would anyone care to explain how it matters? In 1 pic i found it states "softens" I assume that means it siftens the spirings. Another pic says "too severe will invert". As im deciding whether or not to get new leafs ect Ive been reading for days about the different types ect and came across this. My rig dsnt lean...no stink bug and im not even sure if i need new leafs just kinda think it wldnt hurt. Any thoughts be appreciated. Trying to dial this all in before spending unecessary $$$ on new leafs.

You gotta look at the shackle angles when the cruiser is sitting on the springs unloaded and fully loaded.

Originally, the stock front springs and shackles had the shackles angled more than 45° forward and the bump stops were less than one inch above the axle pads. A brand new cruiser only had about 1/2" to 3/4" down travel before the front bump stops hit.

When a shackle is near 90° relative to the spring, the ride will be harsh. This geometry usually happens when stiffer replacement springs are installed that are the same length as the originals.
