Can this service specification make it into the FAQ? ;) I compiled this because I'm consolidating my LC maintenance info and it was easier to reference now. If there are any corrections, please feel free to tell me about it!

* I got this info from geniune Toyota publications & service manuals. Though I have the Haynes, Max Ellery, Gregpry's, and other books, I didn't consult them for fear of getting erroneous info.

I'd be glad to! It's for the 1FZ-F (carb, not EFI) and HZJ and HDJ models though... As soon as I get back to the office for the scanner.

Oh no need to scan in an image unless you want to, a text translation would be just fine.

Was the 1FZ-FE never sold in the Philippines? I had heard about carbed 1FZ’s never had figured out where they were sold. There is a false lobe on my intake cam complete with oiling hole to drive a mechanical fuel pump that is not there.

I wonder what effect that has on creation of the oil viscosity chart? Did they take fuel dilution into account? I would guess F chart is the same as the FE chart for other non US countries, the US chart (or lack there of) is a compromise.

Changing timing chain/belt

I was just making a list of service items to get my new 97 up to date and according to my maintainance chart it is not necesssary to ever replace the timing chain. Is this true and can I drive at 106K miles in confidence it will not break or slip? I had the timing belt go on my so-called non-interfearence Sebring a year ago and the engine is still in bits.

Drexx hasn't been here in a long time but to answer your question, the bolt/fill plug for checking the transfer case fluid is the one located at 8 o'clock position facing the rear of the truck. It is a 24mm fill plug.

So my penchant for bumping old threads remains constant...
...and on this one...the only place I can find Dexron-II is on EBay's vintage oil can pages.
Can Dexron -III be used instead? My transmission was rebuilt last year and I'm presuming they used D-3, not D-2. I can't call and ask them as I don't trust them to actually tell me the truth. They illustrated their difficulty with the truth during the rebuild process.

Know this.... you can use Valvoline Maxlife ATF, its backward compatible.
