I put tire cleaner on mine. Hope attracts the eyes from everything else on the truck.

It was a good day.

There was too much snow to get through to the summit. So I took a side road down that goes by the Ruby mine site. I came upon a group of two Tacomas, two Jeeps, and a 4 Runner. One Tacoma was stuck in the snow drifts and the second Tacoma was unsuccessfully winching him back up the hill. They were nice guys to be around and I enjoyed talking to them while we got the first Tacoma out. They asked if I would lead them down through the remaining snow drifts. How could I refuse? I proceeded to break trail down until I too got hung up in the drifts. With nothing to winch to, I reverted to using Maxtrax. Very quickly and quite easily they let me get out in about 10 minutes. I proceeded though the last drift and back to Weston Pass.

So with Weston Pass denying me access, I had to revert to going over Hoosier Pass instead.

After Hoosier Pass, I proceeded through Breckenridge to I-70. I really enjoy Glenwood Canyon. I stopped at the rest area where several people felt the need to ask me for pictures and directions.

After that I turned off of I-70, I went through the town of Rifle and up Rifle Gap. A very neat canyon.

At the end of Rifle Gap I found another canyon. It is called Little Box Canyon and this time it was a four wheel drive road. It was steep, muddy, and rocky with some sections of snow. It was not enough to need 4wd or low range, but it was still awesome. I didn't get many pictures but I will eventually post video of the road. I was passed by a lifted Suburban coming down. That would be the last people I would see for the rest of the day.

Nice trip report :)

Keep the great pics coming

I thought this was a pig documentary.
Anyway, Day #2. I drove the rest of the way down Buford road. Did not see any other vehicles until I came upon a road grader actively grading the road. He did not seem very happy to see me, but I passed him and found that at the end of the road there was a very large "Road Closed" sign blocking the road. Oh well, should have posted that sign at the top if they didn't want people up there. I drove around the sign and continued to the town of Buford.
