I want to sell my truck soon and I want to see how much it is worth from the wagon community. I am no longer rock crawling and my focus has been rock climbing and canyoneering lately. I want to get a diesel vehicle for expedition travel mostly for remote death valley travel or a sportsmobile camper van since most weekends are spent in places like Yosemite or Joshua Tree these days.

The vehicle is rust free and I am the fourth owner. I have some receipts but not all. The first owner was in Utah, the second owner was a pastor and his wife drove it, and the third owner was a salesman near Santa Barbara that was restoring it until I converted it into a rock crawler. The PO gave me all his paperwork and the paperwork he kept from the previous owner. The truck has around 290,000 miles on it but hasn’t shown any signs of dying yet. I bought a spare parts truck in case the motor blew and ended up replacing the A440F when I ran it too hot after putting 35’s on it.

So here is a list I put together. I am looking to sell this vehicle to someone who wants to offroad, camp, and get into places normal stock 4x4’s can’t go. It can run trails like the Rubicon. I personally have taken it through Dusy Ershim and to Coyote Lake. Know anyone interested in this vehicle?

So want.. I wouldnt have to do anything else to mine. Fix the ac and heater and its ready to go.

$6,803.33 :D

But really. I'd ask $7,000 and then work with a buyer from there. A few things that would stray me away personally: Will need tires soon, rough paint, No A/C.

Why not just swap axles with someone wanting to go SOA, throw on a heavy OME lift, 33's, build an expedition trailer and be on your way? Sounds like that would fit your needs :)

The gas mileage is the main killer for an expedition rig. I want to get at least 20 mpg.

I also want a camper style van where I can cook in it, pop the top up and sleep above. A trailer was a thought but I don't want to be stuck in the slow lane doing 55. That adds a lot of time to a from Zion or Yosemite which I don't have on short weekends.

In regards to the tires, I have two new dick cepeck AT's so selling the four worn muds could help me get two new tires to complete the set.

The AC will not be redone by me. Too much time and money. I'll give the parts to the buyer and that person can make the choice. I never had an issue without AC.

The heater core I could probably fix.

I expect to find a serious buyer and then fix a few items for that person to give them the extra labor for their investment.

Anyone want to bite? I'd sell it today for $6,500 to a good mudder...

I'll probably fix the odds and ends and post it on craigslist in a few months.

The 6,000 to 7,000 range is what I had in my mind.

Rock Cruiser,
Out of curiosity, how much would you be willing to drop for the SOA axle set?

I assume you'd want the 4.88's, F&R disk brakes, ARB lockers with ARB comp?

pm me.

I know a licensed auto dismantler so I could go that route.

I have a buddy with an FZJ80 on 35's and an expo trailer. He can go 70 no problem. Gas mileage is another story. Completely understand that element.

Diesel swap, OME, 33's, expo trailer = over 20 no problem. But $$$$$$

I was thinking if you just swapped complete axles hub to hub with thirds you could then bolt on an OME suspension no problem :)

I just want to see people hold on to these cruisers. You know you'd miss it. Even the irritating things about it :wrench:

Diesel swap costs quite a bit. I do not want a trailer. Storage and driving with it are a pain. I'm looking mainly for a camping conversion van for my current lifestyle.

And yes, it's hard to let the cruiser go because rock crawling in the Sierra is really nice.

What, you're not up for a conversion yourself ?
