Must have relied on the mechanical advance only? The only ported vacuum on a pre '75 carb I've seen was on a '74 that came off an FJ55. It is on my truck as we, ummm.....type;)

That is a typical F motor Vacume RETARD carb. The "emissions computer" tells the VSV (which gets constant vacume from the manifold) when to retard the dizzy. It is a fairly dumb design but that Carb has no Ported Vacume.

Good point on the air cleaner stud... So i guess it would be a 75-early 76, 2F Vac Retard Carb.

According to spectors website, it is a 1975 2F carb. I will get the date off it also. So I guess I can't use this carb on a de-smogged setup?

Or swap the base with a carb that has advance port.

Or have Jim or Mark drill your base.

Remove the base and send it to Mark www.marksoffroad.net to be fitted with a port.
