No advance or retard port on the back of the carb??? I think it is a 75' CA. model carb.
Guess no one else has seen this either
Must have relied on the mechanical advance only? The only ported vacuum on a pre '75 carb I've seen was on a '74 that came off an FJ55. It is on my truck as we, ummm.....type
That is a typical F motor Vacume RETARD carb. The "emissions computer" tells the VSV (which gets constant vacume from the manifold) when to retard the dizzy. It is a fairly dumb design but that Carb has no Ported Vacume.
An F carb with center stud for the 2F aircleaner?????????? That is not an F carb
Moto, what is the date stamp on the carb above the sight glass?
Good point on the air cleaner stud... So i guess it would be a 75-early 76, 2F Vac Retard Carb.
According to spectors website, it is a 1975 2F carb. I will get the date off it also. So I guess I can't use this carb on a de-smogged setup?
It is a 01/75 - 12/75 '75 California Carb

i think i have the same carb my vin is a 75, can you not use that on a desmog set up?
If there is no way to advance the timing its not useable, right?
Not without the VSV parts for timing
Or swap the base with a carb that has advance port.
Or have Jim or Mark drill your base.
can i drill a hole in the base to fix this.
Remove the base and send it to Mark www.marksoffroad.net to be fitted with a port.
I have a good base off another stock carb that has been sitting around. I wonder if they are compatable?
