Hi guys, I'm heading to Weiser, ID for the big fiddle contest in a couple weeks. No, I'm not in it, my son is. While there I'd like to get out of Weiser and do some exploring. One route I thought would be interesting, but I have no info on, is heading due east from Weiser over to Garden Valley via Ola. I'll be in my HDJ-81 and probably with a buddy in his 100 Series. Any input is welcome.

Generally good gravel/dirt roads along this route:
Weiser River Rd --> Bear Creek Rd --> S Crane Rd --> Big Flat Rd --> McFadden Ln --> N Crane Rd --> Sheep Creek Rd --> Dodson Pass Rd --> south on NF-618 . . .
Once southbound on NF-618, some interesting route options include the list below (check with Payette NF for current road conditions, openings/closings):
1. NF-618 --> Sage Hen Reservoir --> NF-626 --> NF-644 --> Smith's Ferry --> south on ID-55 (paved) --> Banks --> Banks-Lowan Rd 17 --> Garden Valley
2. NF-618 --> Hancock Rd --> Ola --> High Valley --> Smith's Ferry --> -> south on ID-55 (paved) --> Banks --> Banks-Lowan Rd 17 --> Garden Valley
3. NF-618 --> Brownlee Rd (just north of Sweet) --> Cruickshank Rd --> NF-643 --> Banks --> Banks-Lowan Rd 17 --> Garden Valley
These and other route variations can be combined into some nice loops. Have fun exploring!
