Hello everyone,
I have the privilege of caring after a 1993 80-series with ~230k miles. In my 5 years or so of ownership I’ve put on about 12k miles.
I recently had some work done (the shop found that the exhaust cam was way out of spec and replaced it with a used, but in spec part). They also noted that the #6 injector sticks at times. This causes the truck to run rough and was the reason I took her to the mechanic in the first place. Since I don’t drive her a lot, it was recommended to try an “induction service” and for me to drive it and see if the injector starts working better.
Nothing has improved, and I decided I would get the injector replaced. The shop is recommending I replace all 6 injectors. The cost of the parts is an eye-watering $2500ish.
I seem to remember performance car people having injectors upgraded and rebuilt. Is this (or something else) an option here?
Thanks in advance,
DJ
